Cozy up on a chilly December day with a concert and luncheon with Forgotten Clefs. We'll journey to Renaissance England and explore two centuries of music for wind band and singers. Join us for a gigue, the favorite dance of Queen Elizabeth I, and for songs from the heyday of English carols. You’ll hear pieces by Thomas Tallis, Robert Parsons, John Dunstable, Anthony Holborne, Thomas Weelkes, and more. A Celebration of St. Nicholas Day program highlights music sung in English and Latin, and features Renaissance instruments: shawms, dulcians, brass, and strings—with a surprise visit from bagpipes! Sing-along tunes will include: "Hail Mary, full of grace;" "Ding Dong Merrily on High;" and "The Bores Hede" (The Bore's Head).
