Forgotten Clefs performs Musique de la rue, a program featuring popular Renaissance tunes and their polyphonic settings on shawms, dulcians, recorders, sackbuts, bagpipes, and percussion. Melodies like J'ay pris amours, De tous biene plaine, and Tandernaken were all the rage in Northern Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries. Composers and improvisers alike borrowed and altered these tunes in beautiful and at times virtuosic settings. Join us for the 'platinum' hits of late medieval and renaissance Northern Europe.
